Understanding how the law defines harassment is critical, but knowing how to recognize, interrupt, and prevent it is transformational. This California-Compliant Harassment Prevention Training not only ensures your organization meets legal requirements, it equips your employees with practical, real-world tools to foster a respectful, safe, and inclusive workplace. Led by Catherine Mattice, CEO of Civility Partners, participants gain meaningful insight into how negative behaviors escalate, what effective intervention looks like, and how to collectively build a culture of respect and inclusivity.

PART 1. COMPANY-WIDE (75 min)

In this 75-minute session, your entire workforce will learn to:

  • Use a variety of methods for addressing unwanted advances, and stepping in when witnessing inappropriate behavior directed at others
  • Describe your sexual harassment policy, how to report complaints, and their role and responsibilities in promoting a workplace free of harassment
  • Develop a personal action plan for living the company core values, and participating in collective building of culture defined by respect

  • Immediately implement tools to address negative behaviors, including coaching and performance management
  • Discuss best practices to avoid harassment claims
  • Build a plan with their employees for creating a positive culture

📍 REGISTRATION OPTIONS

We offer flexible attendance options to fit your organization’s workflow. You may choose any of the following:

  1. Employees register individually and attend from their own devices.
  2. One person registers on behalf of the group, and the team attends together in a conference room.
  3. A hybrid approach: Some employees register individually while others join a group session.

If your team attends together as a group, it is the employer’s responsibility to track and confirm individual attendance for compliance purposes.

All options are completely acceptable. Simply select what works best for your organization.

📍 WHAT HR/EMPLOYERS WILL RECEIVE

To support your documentation and compliance needs, your company’s main contact will receive:

  • A list of all registrations from your company

  • A list of actual attendees from your company, including entry/exit timestamps

  • A chat transcript, demonstrating interaction and participation

  • An individual certificate of training completion
  • Training materials used

We encourage HR/employers to remind employees to stay active in the chat. Engagement enhances the learning experience and helps demonstrate compliance. If you fail to utilize the chat function, there will be no proof of participation. You may be asked to retake the training as a result.

📍 REMINDER

We’ll be using the Zoom platform for this training. Please refer to this Zoom Information Sheet if you’re not already familiar with the platform, and share it with your employees to help avoid any technical difficulties during the session.

“I was really happy with how the training went. Catherine did a great job – she spent a lot of time ensuring the material was pertinent to our needs, and she really got people to interact with her and with each other during the training. She also provided several great ideas to implement with the staff so that we can keep the conversation around a positive workplace going long after she is gone. I will definitely be using her ideas in future meetings and talking with managers about using them within individual departments.”

    – Shaney McCoy, Chair of Student Affairs Staff Development Committee, Weber State University

“I worked with Catherine to address bullying in our workplace. It was a mandatory training. Employees eyes roll, attitude is happening as they walk in the door. When Catherine started facilitating the training, most of the employees took notice. She delivered this training in a way that made it personal and allowed the employees to recognize their behavior was bullying. They just thought it was fun and funny. The shift in behavior was immediate and they also started to look out for each other.”
