Manager Troubles

Not everyone has the luxury of dealing with a difficult Manager.

“Then I abruptly turn around and ask “Can I help you with something?” while making sure to stare straight in his face. When I did this, I discovered he was not more than a couple steps behind me. He had gotten way too close. My abrupt turn and question caught the Character off guard. The look on his face was priceless. He managed to mumble a ‘no’ and walked past me as I stood there watching him.”

There are times when you have to stand up for yourself and follow your beliefs and face your Manager. When the time comes it is important to be assertive and be courageous in order to overcome obstacles which may get in the way of happiness in the workplace.

Incivility, bullying, and harassment occur because the culture allows them to. Before starting inclusivity initiatives, you’ve got to stop bad behavior. Take this assessment to determine if your workplace fosters a positive culture.
