When I first became interested in ending negative work environments, I used to go around telling people that I was in the business of ending negative work environments.
But a mentor and dear friend explained to me that I can’t go around telling people I leave holes. I can’t sell nothing as a service. So she asked me, “What happens when you work with clients? What’s the end result?”
It was through her valuable mentorship that I realized I was actually focused on creating positive work environments. What’s left when I work with clients is a happier, more productive workforce.
Since that paradigm shift in my head I’ve become obsessed with the opposite of workplace bullying (my niche) – I’ve become obsessed with all things “great place to work.” I read anything I can get my hands on related to employee engagement, collaborative work environments, creating positive cultures, and managing change.
Through all this research, I have discovered that much of the advice out there is very theoretical. Many of the books about culture, for example, highlight what good culture looks like and how the author came to discover it, but there’s nothing in there about HOW TO actually MAKE CULTURE CHANGE.
I don’t like books like that. I like information coming at me that is tangible, actionable, and provides what I need to go and do it.
This puts me in a unique position to offer a truly actionable approach to culture change.
Through time, I have gained great insight on exactly what to do and how to do it. And I feel like I am keeping so much valuable information to myself that I might just explode.
If culture change is something you are interested in learning about, I want to invite you to my upcoming webinar, The Workplace Culture Makeover Masterclass: Transform culture, get bottom line results.
